Jaiden George is an outdoor Photographer and Filmmaker from Tofino, BC. A future Hereditary Chief, his work primarily concerns the conservation of Indigenous land and culture, examining contested spaces, human impact and environmental crisis in the Pacific Northwest - extending also to race relations in photographic representation and alternative methods of environmental activism in visual culture.
He is currently in his fourth year of undergraduate study at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC.

FINDING SOLITUDE

Finding Solitude is an environmental film about saving Vancouver Island's Alpine, Glaciers and Old Growth Forests, created in collaboration by Jaiden George and Ucluelet-based filmmaker Tristan Hinder-Hohlweg of Old Growth Media.
Through interviews with scientific, environmental and cultural leaders, the film explores the importance and interconnectivity of alpine and forest eco-systems, providing the critical next steps towards a sustainable future.
Partial proceeds are donated to The Nature Conservancy's Emerald Edge Program.
